Hi, Just wanted to say I came to this site looking for a way to make my own WoW server
You guys delivered
This was exactly what I was looking for.
Dowmloaded in about half an hour
It took almost all the hard work out of setting up
Thank you so very much and good luck on finding and fixing those bugs quickly
I can't wait for you guys to give us some more added content with some bug fixes for us (just hope it's not as big a file download)
Again, Thank You So Very Much

bump
How would I change the name of the realm?
Also, noticed some objects or creatures weren't interactable when that hand icon turned into that gear looking thing.
A couple of guards in Stormwind looked like they were being pulled away by an invisable force
These were standing by the guy on a horse when I first walked into stormwind.
When I got close to them they did this (scary face I guess)
I'm thinking it has something to do with waypoints
I'm thinking .setmovetype or .addmove command may fix it
Thought there was a command for allowing/disallowing movement too but cannot find it
Will be doing more testing of this pack, very pleased with the outcome of it so far :square_g:
Can't even get anything to run, this is all i get

Ok, a fellow noob will try to help
Starting from the beginning:
After ya downloaded Dev-ATeam Serv.(Ver.1.0.5).exe
You run it and let everything install,
Just sit back and let everything run, should take a minute or two maybe longer
It should stop at a DOS cmd screen and bring up an extractor program, for me it was WinRAR.
I had to run it a second time because i hit a button by accident XD
Just click Install again and let run
It'll extract all the maps files, etc (will take a few minutes)
give it a few seconds after the screen dissappears and press any key on the keyboard.
It should then open your Browser with a ReadMe showing
You can close that and click 'NEXT' and then 'FINISH'
Open My Computer and go to C:\Dev-ATeam M@nG@S Server
Check to see if the folders 'dbc' and 'maps' are in the 'data' folder
If not place them in the 'data' folder
Then find 'Dev-ATeam M@nG@S Server' in your start menu and click it
Click the 'Start SQL' Button let it run for a bit
2 DOS like windows will open up then a browser window should open
the other two will go away shortly after
Then Click 'Start Realm' Give it a few to start up
Then Click 'Start MangosDB' Give it a few until you hear a beep
Make sure NOT to close them just minimize them if you want
Now everything should be up and running for you.
If you have any errors during this process please post so one of the smart guys/gals can help
If when you hit 'Start SQL' and get errors that means there's a program running that is not allowing it to run.
The quickest way to track down which one I would suggest pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL
Then Click the 'Processes' tab
You could either write them all down and post them here or take a screenshot of them and post it here.
There is still the problem of re-setting to realm select screen, I fixed my database with external network ip 192.168.0.x, and I put 127.0.0.1 192.168.0.x in HOSTS file. I also have these ports forwarded: 3306-3306 UDP+TCP | 3724-3724 UDP+TCP | 8080-8085 UDP+TCP.
I have searched the forums and there is no other information to change regarding live servers, except for creating a DNS, which I SHOULD NOT need, because I am hosting LOCAL only, I do not want to host to the internet, only for my lan center to have access.
I have now tried using a dyndns alias to get a ping outside my server. THE SERVER WILL STILL NOT BROADCAST. This issue cannot be fixed with my knowledge and there is NOTHING on the forums that says otherwise, there is a flaw in the code or someone is not telling me something. Is there a command that I must type in the server itself to start broadcasting, there must be something... how is it other peoples servers work using the xenow pack...
Comcast is my ISP, to check one more thing, someone post the info in their HOSTS file that has a current WORKING server, just so I can compare.

# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost
192.168.0.102 WoWServer!
That is my HOSTS file, does it need fixing?
bumpin to see if someone can still help, check post ^^^
I got wrong with the maps. It says that i cant find maps :S
it has some tutorial one explaining as to install this?
cstk
That seems to be because the item may not be in the database, you can fix by putting it in there or waiting for the next patch/upgrade.
I'm waiting cause I can't seem to figure out how to update correctly

I got a working LAN Server running
---------------------------------------------------------
Here's my host file found in
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
Edited it with notepad

192.168.0.100 localhost
Started the Dev-ATeam M@nG@S Server
Clicked Start SQL
[SIZE=2]Clicked "Go to PHPMySQLAdmin" when the webpage came up
selected realmd
then realmlist
- Clicked Browse
Clicked EDIT
Put my server name in and my Server LAN IP Address like so
Then After pressing go, i changed the realmlist.wtf to
set realmlist 192.168.0.100 on all my LAN computers that will play it.
Put my server in the DMZ of my router just to make sure it wasn't gonna be blocked, don't know if ya have to.
Haven't tested WAN play yet, thinking I only change to the external WAN ip and forward that port to my Server, not sure but will test sometime.
------------------------------------------
Questions for those with looping problems, when their friends try to connect and get sent back to the realmlist or login screen.
Do they meet the minimum requirements for playing the game?
Can anyone play on that server? including you
What latency do they/you get?
Your router or server may not be able to handle the load and drops them
------------------------------------------
Follow up on the 2 guys floating off in SW
They start by the guy on a horse then walk off over the edge and through the building somewhere GUIDs are 99099 and 99100
Was annoying me so I deleted them.
Noticed sometimes when you click to attack something then click away you will stay in combat mode even though no combat is going on, and you'll stay like that until you or the creature dies, or attack and kill something else
NPCs sometimes disappears into the environment when attacking, either fully or partial
Sometime they hover
Quest Bug with red bandanas, showing 0/12 when quest log shows the right amount
Double character in Goldshire upstairs in the Inn
I'm running this pack as-is when you first download it, moving the dbc and maps folders into the data folder of course.
Mangos: rev 3411 using DB: SDB rev. 154
Windows XP Home SP2
The official read me from post #3 of this thread --> click here <--
My post #62 on this page, is kinda a walkthrough/guide
It's pretty much a one click install, just don't change anything, wait for everything to run click next until your done.
-----------------------
Also, another bug I guess, the NPCs that I set Waypoints for using the .Addmove command, seems to change speeds alot. from normal, run, fast walk to barely move

The profession mining and skinning do not work.
I learned the skills and bought the mining pick and skinning knife. When I tried to mine, it says "Requires mining pick." Same for skinning.
When I opened the spell book and looked at the skinning icon, the tool Skinning Knife is in red color. I had bought a skinning knife already.
Anybody has a fix?
