I fixed this same issue by adding elsword.exe and x2.exe to my antivirus exceptions. I also had to remove x2.exe from my virus vault as it shows as a false postive.

Any possible workaround for windows XP users?

Upgrading to Windows 7 is always a workaround

I know, I just recently downgraded back to Windows XP for nostalgia's sake considering they finally dropped support and released the "final" version of it.

I suppose I could just dual boot both OS, but going through the trouble just isn't worth it for a private server.
