Thats shit. If he wants a good PC, tell him to build it himself.
He can get one better than that for up to 30% cheaper if he builds it.
If he doesn't know how then just tell him not to get an Alienware. Most overpriced and over-hyped computers out there. Get a Dell or something instead.
Your friend is preparing to pay some ridiculous markup rates. Browse around Newegg and such, he could build the same system for MUCH cheaper.
I get 60% discount of all HP computers :)
Getting HP Blackbird this summer. Check it out! HP Blackbird 002 PC
Wait, wait. He wants a PC to code, act as a server, and everyday stuff like e-mail, msn and word processing? That's a vastly different hardware setup to what he would need.
Unless of course he's going to be playing games..
so for server file redundancy purposes the 4 terabytes are in mirror array, yes ?
you can code on anything that runs linux and has a keyboard attached. unless hes more specific like c# or vb.net or something other windowsy.
but yeh why pay 50% of the price to the guy that makes a plastic case and other nubs thinks its cool.. alienware was always look at what i can buy for loadsa moneys but i can get it at half the price if i done it myself.
Customize your d4999t series direct at HP Home & Home Office Store
well since all u guys dont like alienware he was browsing all the websites like dell, acer, alienware, hp, compaq, sony, emachines, ect...
He wants to know if this better than alienware. it was the cheapest he could find with what he wanted.
yeah he is gonna use it for gaming, and coding in C# right now and he wants to try out Crysis
it also came with some free upgrades and rebates.
Build your own PC. -_-
Tell your friend that getting a computer that can run Crysis at ridiculous settings is a waste of time and money, the game is mediocre as a shooter, rather excellent if you plan to just stand around and look at stuff tho.
buy pc parts and build one, much cheaper.
I should've built mine :( but noooo, i bought a HP pavilion and it sucks right now
What are the advantages and disadvantages of building a computer, my friend ask?
Advantages:
Vastly cheaper. My computer at the time would have cost $15k from Alienware but I only spent $2500 on the parts.
You get to choose what parts you use.
You get to customize how it looks.
Disadvantages:
No system warranty but you got manufacture warranty on each item which is a little more hassle if something doesn't work.
NoPeace - out
