I use kaspersky premium, it gets kinda annoying with the sudden changes to my firewall though.

    ^^^ This

Best protection so far. Kespersky is good but slows the computer like shit.
Nod32 is almost same as kaspersky.

Avast is free but gets job done, malwatebytes keeps track of shitty malware and spybot is obvious

    Re: Antivirus

Your brain is the best AV you can get. I have not run an AV in years on my windows box. And if you somehow do get infected it's not hard to manually remove them, even if it's a rootkit. Boot into a live distro of *nix if you don't have a *nix partition and get rid of the rootkit driver.

So long as you know what you're doing online to avoid getting a virus, and are capable to remove them on your own you don't need one slowing down your system.

    >.> Welcome to almighty Windows.

My Windows 7 box is running:
    - Avira AntiVir Personal
    - Super Anti Spyware
    - Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    - COMODO Firewall
    - Crap Cleaner
Free, so far my best WINDOWS security solution.

hmm now I shall switch to my sweet SUSE and browse some p0rnz :)
    Have fun with windows >.>

I'm surprised you didn't have any conflicts with all those softwares you're using . I use AVG IS.

Well.. Conflicts will not occur due to the fact that only Avira is real-time :o
Others are 'on demand' scanners only :P

Besides antivirus rarely got a problem with anti-spyware.

    This, this, and this.

I haven't run any Antivirus program on any of my PC's in quite some time. There simply isn't a need.

I also found that if you run your system extremely lean (ie. only the bare essential programs installed) it is very easy to know yourself if you ever do get any malware, because you'll notice a difference right away.

    Re: Antivirus

Avast offers the best definitions for free antivirus software. Along with the smallest memory footprint. Sure if you know how to run a machine you don't have to run a antivirus along with it. But for the extra 15mb of memory to run a antivirus, why run around without a backup e-condom on?

Primary (Real Time): avast! - Download Free Antivirus software or Internet Security
    Secondary (Scan Time): Malwarebytes

Use to be the king for a year, just like every other short-lived famed antiviruses. All those old famous ones tried to jammed too much shit in their new versions and killed them selfs that way.

So no I wouldn't recommend NOD32, unless you have no choice other wise.
