[Assistance] Help buying a new computer

I need a computer that can run most games okay. I don't need cutting edge graphics, etc. It has to have: monitor, speakers, and a desktop. xD

I don't want to build my own. It has to be an all-in-one computer.

Note: I only have an around $500 USD budget.

I'm thinking about going with this computer: (Go Green option)
    Built For You Desktops

That computer is four times as better than the computer I'm on. Do you guys have any better suggestions?

$500 USD for a computer including monitor and speakers? That'll be hard.

Too bad you dont want to built your own, it would be cheaper. But still you cant expect much if you include monitor in that price.

Imo for the price, that one u posted is not too bad considering it includes everything... Though the GPU is kinda non-existant, wont play any recent games. Also even thought u get vista with it, i'd put on XP, u will lag like a mofo if vista is on that system. + its Dell so not bad imo.

lol, i had the same GPU and it wouldn't run any fkcing game properly even you're one low settings.

I think you should save it a little more and build your own

Not too much actually. Considering its a Dell and has good customer service ect as well as warranties, I'd say its about the same. Only gets cheaper for higher-end machines.

I plan to install Windows XP on this computer. I could buy this computer and save for a better graphics card...

    Any thoughts on this?

I would buy/I will buy , ATI Radeon HD 3870, 512MB. Its alot cheaper than Geforce cards, but performance is almost the same. You can probably run every game right now....

If you are going to install a different OS on a Dell PC then you are in for a long time. They way they set up their systems with a hidden ghosted partition really makes it a bitch to clean out.

And take a look at your local BestBuy or CircuitCity. I've seen better systems for less there.

Just don't bother trying to get a PC for $500 to run modern games even on low. Just wait for a while and save up some more money till you can get something a bit more expensive.

Try tigerdirect.com you should be able to get something decent from there. You can always get a moniter from your old computer, or from the side of the road, and the operating system can always be pirated. :} This can save you around $400.

I checked out alot of games and their recommended specs. The computer can handle those games.

I just ordered this and I plan to save up for a better graphics card.
