    Bottleneck

    will amd phenom II x 720 BE overclocked to 3.3 ghz bottleneck an amd 6850 and 6870?. Im planning to get a 6850 instead of the 6870.

    No, it will be fine. Even without the overclock it shouldn't be an issue at all.

    Gaming really doesn't put THAT much of a strain on the CPU, it's mostly GPU and RAM intensive.

    If it's not too much of a price increase, i'd go for it. Depends on what you're upgrading from though, if your current GPU is already decent then you would see too much of a performance increase with the 6850.

    i have a 4870 1gb in my rig right now and i want it replaced since im getting artifacts already. ill get the 6850 since i found a good deal, i'll just probably overclock it for some games since it eats alot of power when Oc'd.

    If you got a good deal on the 6850 then go for it, the 4870 is still an OK card so the performance boost won't be HUGE, but it will still be noticeable.
