Wondered how many of you encrypt parts of your drive for security reasons? I generally use TrueCrypt and notice a lack of actual discussion regarding it. My primary drive is SSD is just for general browsing and speed. I have a secondary drive I use to store numerous media and then a partitioned VM drive and then another additional encrypted drive.

I have one 2TB HD...partioned into 3 drives. No encryption...never really had the thought of needing it. But was curious about this BitLocker in Win 7.

Have one 100GB partition encrypted for personal data, forms, scans, etc.
Will do a guide for partitions and vms, useful for anyone doing something they shouldn't.
I server used to have 3x 1.5 TB drivers running in raid 5 with 128 bit PGP encryption. When I moved to an i5 I had to break down the array as my controller card was PCI and my board didn't have any PCI ports. So now I just have a few 1.5 TB drives in my server, not in raid, nor encrypted.
I honestly don't need to encrypt them. I don't really have anything that I want to hide that badly. I have all of my data managed by AD permissions so I don't have to worry about unauthorized access to the data. I have a pretty good NAT firewall setup with tight control over ports, so nothing can really get into my network and I have secured wifi so that door is also closed. Though, none of that matters as I'm the only one that can authenticate new devices to my domain anyways.

I use an encryption system that i coded my own to encrypt selected files and folders only :D
As for truecrypt it gives you a wide variety of encryption algorihm, including Serpent i think which is said to be stronger than AES. Its speed isnt that bad neither.

I honestly have nothing to hide on my computer, so why waste the extra resources to encrypt my drives?
Besides, it's not like anyone is just going to come into my house and take my HDDs
Any important documents I usually view through google drive/skydrive, which is encrypted
Always prepare for the worst. The best encryption for your PC is not saving your personal information on your PC. Get a water/fire-proof safe and secure it to your house.
Never trust anything is safe on your PC. I know far too many people who have everything from their social security number to their last cell phone bill on their computers. I had one friend who left his WiFi open for people because he didn't want to have to give out a password. After I pulled up his SSN on my laptop he had a change of heart regarding that subject.
