Finally ordered my watercooling

Well, I finally ordered the watercooling parts I've wanted for so long. Once I have all the parts set up I'll post some pictures of it, there will be no UV dye, no flashy lights or anything like that. The system will be built for efficiency and silence.

See the attached screenshot for what I ordered, I also ordered an 8800 single slot bracket too.

The second image is how I will be mounting the radiator onto my Antec 900, except I'll use a more stable frame as that one simply looks flimsy and crap.

I may also create holes in the other side of the case to route cables round the back so it looks nice and tidy, I'd just need to get some sort of rubber seals for that so the metal doesn't cut into the cables.

Wish me luck, first time I'll be modifying my case in any major way.

I'm looking forward to your results, especially since I have the same case.

You should record before and after temperatures to see how big of a change in temperature there is (well, at least I'm curious).

You do realize you didn't need to buy that gel pad? The D5 pumps don't viberate much at full speed and are dead silent so the pad does nothing. They are only good on the DDC pumps but on the low voltage ones as the high voltage ones get to hot and melt the gel.

Also the line filter is just stupid... You install it and filter your system. Then you need to drain the loop and remove the filter. Though you could keep it in but it will drop your pressure greatly for your system causing an increase in performs. Which isn't too good as you got 2 impegmented blocks which kills performance anyways.

Also your GPU block is a dual slot block so a single slot bracket does no good for your. Also I hope you are thinking about getting the shroud for your GPU block so your RAM, NVIO, and MOSFETs get cooled properly. Don't rely on stick on heat sinks as 90% of the time they will just fall off.

Also be careful with that res. Mine leaks like a bastard and is only usable now as the barbs are coated over with a cm of silicon to keep it from leaking. I've lost a half tank of liquid in 2 loops that I've had because of that stupid res.

Other then that it's a pretty solid loop. I myself is debating on redoing my loop. Right now I got a 120mm Coolingworks rad, D5 pump, and a Storm Rev2 water block. Was thinking about getting the Coolermaster Cosmos S case (the one you can mount a triple rad on top) so I can install my 320, a pair of GTX blocks, and a new res. Though that will set me back about $500 which I also want to add 8gb of RAM to my PC and build a better server which will also set me back $500 and finally I've been thinking about buying better speakers for my sound system which will also cost about $500. So I need to pick one. XD

I would really like to get a cosmos case so I can put my triple rad to use but I just don't want to really spend all that money on it and the same for blocks for my GTXs. I might just get a new PC latter this year and it'll just be a waist of money buying blocks for them. I should have done it a year ago when I got it but oh well... Like wise I would also like to get 8gb of RAM for my system as 4gb just isn't enough to do some of my school work and it would help out loads as I really need at a minimum of 6gb of RAM to work at fast as I can. As for a server, I really do need a better one. Right now using an old dell that gets the job done but it has no space to add in some extra drives (no physical space or SATA ports) and I have 1tb of storage in this desktop which I want to put into the server. As for speakers... I got a 7.1 channel receive with only 5.1 channel speakers in it and they are cheap speakers that came with the system.

Meh... I hate decisions...

Umm... Yeah... Fill the Rad up with vinegar for 3 days and then flush it out with a few gallons of water. There wont be any flux left in it.

It does look good though I wonder how well it actually does work. Every review I've seen only talks about the core temps and never the mem and mosfet temps.

Yeah it's a good res. Just make sure it's standing upright and not on it's side like in the picture. That way it will work properly as the bottom half is designed for the inlets and to make sure they are always fully submerged and the top half is then used as storage. If you have it on it's side like in that pic then you'll be letting in air into the loop once the water level goes down a little.

I didn't realise there was a foam pad with it. Ah well.

Also filling it with vinegar for 3 days is a bad idea. 1 hour, rinse, repeat is enough. 3 days will start to corrode the insides. Don't forget vinegar is acidic ;)

And yeah, the rad will be standing up. Where I'm going to put it I'm not sure, but it will be standing up.
