how do I add the funds though? do I have to do it from the bank or online?

You don't need to. Just buy something with paypal and it automatically moves funds from your bank to paypal and then to the other person.

I tryed to order my case from newegg and they said they needed a credit card cause i didnt have the funds in my paypal. or something like that

on the paypal site, after u log in, under the "My Account" tab should be an "Add Funds" link

of course, you need to have already added and verified a bank account

if u haven't already added a bank account, it's under My Account > Profile > Add or Edit Bank Account

Yeh a savings account in the bank IS a bank account :P

Though i am quite certain you have to first contact your bank and ask them to enable "online banking" if it isn't already. THEN add the account to paypal.

Online banking isn't anything to do with paypal. To use instant transactions from your bank via paypal you HAVE TO add a debit card or credit card. If you don't have either I suggest you go into your bank and request a debit card. (Not the same as a credit card, it takes money directly from your bank account)

Must be different over there... here all you need is a bank account with net banking enabled and a bank card (your "debit card") to get paypal working. Well that's how people i've known have done it.

Online banking simply allows you to login to your banks website to check your balance, view statements, transfer money etc.

But without online banking (here atleast) you cannot perform ANY transactions online (via paypal or not), and that includes with your bank card. You can with a credit card obviously, but you need online banking here for just a regular bank card.

Your country is different then Rish. Like Mazo said, online banking isn't needed to use Paypal when adding bank account here in US.
