I've seen a lot of people on different forum sites asking if this is possible, but most people who know how t do it won't share their secrets. Not only that, but keywords such as "games", or "runescape" are blocked in search engines such as Google. However, there is one search engine which is NOT filtered whatsoever.
Step One: Go to AltaVista
Step Two: Click on the "Babel Fish Translation" link under the text field.
Step Three: Look for the "Translate a Web Page" field. Leave the prefix http:// then type in the full URL of the website you wish to visit.
Example of completed field: MySpace
Next, click on the drop down bar under that, and select "German to English". You can try doing this with other translation options, such as Japanese to English, etc. depending on the main character set of your browser.
Note: I have tested this on a BESS Internet filter, through Apple Airport internet connection. This trick has been tested on:
Mac Mozilla Firefox
Mac Safari Explorer
Mac Internet Explorer 7.0
Windows Internet Explorer 7.0
Windows People PC
Warning: Most school and work computer activities are monitored by your IT Tech administrator. I have not found a way to block PC's from being discoverable, however I have for Mac. On the tool bar on the top of the finder (desktop) look for the Bluetooth logo. iBook G4 notebooks and iMac desktops are monitored with Bluetooth, making it easy for you to become invisible. :ninja:
Another Warning: IT Tech Administrators are also allowed to search your computer's Internet Browsing history with or without notice, and without a search warrant. :matrix:
I highly suggest keeping a low profile while doing all of this, and also downloading some form of free ware which erases browsing history, cookies, registry, etc. One can be found here:
