[Help] .Dat file Extractor ??

Hy.. everyone.
someone can help me?

i want to extract / unpack a .dat file
but i don't know what kind of files .dat (avi/txt/jpg/etc)
this file is derived from one of the MMORPG games
i just wanna get some information from that file

I have tried several dat-tool to unpack That
but no one of the tools that can open the file

can someone help me to extract it?
or try to ectract it and tell me a tool that can open it

You can't just 'Get an extractor' for any .dat file, they have to be read, scanned, and built specifically for that particular file; so it will unpack into proper directories and know which sectors contain which files.

The biggest problem is.. you havent told us what game, version, or anything specific at all about the file. So no, we can't help you until you clarify this more.

sory before, bcause i don't give anything specific about the file.

Now I will try to give some information about this file.
this file from "Emil Chronicle Online" games
i get it from "data" directory on emil chronicle folder
in folder data i get it from "xls"directory
(i think xls is the format of the file, but when i try to open with excel, i don't get anything)
As i remember, this file contains a list of monster data (with table)
(I saw a screenshot of someone in a forum, open this file with Excel Ofice)

so i think that file, must be unpack before opened
and the problem, i don't know how to unpack that file

Ah, the wonders of Google. But I'm not sure if this will work. I haven't tried it - I don't need to extract any .dat files. Tell me if it does.

Also, I suppose when you extract the .dat you'll get some sort of file. Depending on what type it is, it may open with Excel, or not.
