[HIS Radeon X1550] FPS on CS 1.6?

Does anyone know a site or something where u can fill in ur Video Card, and then select a game, and it shows you how much FPS u have, i know it exists, but i forgot the link (silly me).

If you don't know what FPS is: Frames Per Second

so you mean to browse a list of benchmarks ?

wont it really be inacurate since you cant test all the graphics cards with the same motherboard same ram sand the same cpu, even using different hard disks can give different fps.

using fraps will tell tell you your current fps

toms hardware guide have been benchmarking since geforce1 if you can find their benchmark archives then it should be what you are looking for.

    P.S.

isnt the maximum attainable fps in hl engine capped at 99 - ah, yes it is. WTF is the point??

There's no need for you to go past the refresh rate of your monitor anyway. All the other frames are dropped and are just for bragging rights.

Well if he is saying that it isn't actually possible, then its all in your head. CS 1.6 has shit requirements anyway, even low end comps can play it on max with no lag, i dont see how anyone can see the diff with such high FPS.

I'll explain a bit more. If your monitor has a refresh rate of 75hz then it can only display 75 frames per second, no matter how many frames your graphics card can chug out.

How do you see a difference? If you monitor is 75Hz then the max it could ever draw out is 75 frames per seconds. Now if your GPU can do 150 the extra 75 fps makes no difference at all as you will never be able to see them.

If you are running an LCD display then all you will ever need is 60-75fps as that's the range that they can actually render. On CRTs it's a different story as they can render 200+.

So big numbers is how mazo said. It's just for bragging rights.

Now about CS. That game is how old? 8-10 years. So I would assume a GPU from 2 years ago can render it at great speed. In fact my x1400 can do just that. I can run CS1.6 at 1650x1080 with AA and it doesn't slow down at all. So there's your answer.

    NoPeace - out
