    Change ISP's.

They also don't "block" all your ports. They only block some, if at all for torrenting, etc.

This is why you don't go with huge big ISP's.

That just depends on the country, because we're still pretty much fine here.

They cannot block ALL of your ports. It simply is not possible.

If they did, you would not be able to use the internet. At all.

Most ISP's, at least major ones cap you like no tomorrow here in the UK. It's actually funny, we do have unlimited bandwidth however if you download more than let's say 1 gb in one go. Your connection will get shaped for about 6 hours to less than 80% of the speed. Technically, it's not "unlimited" that's a marketing term. The ISP I'm with is the only semi-big one in the UK that doesn't cap - but I pay the price but trust me it's worth it.

I imagine it's the same situation over in the US. But blocking ports is bloody stupid. No ISP has a right to do such a thing and it can not be justified. An internet connection should be yours, with no limitations with what you can do on it.

    No, that is not possible.

Port 80 is for the HTTP protocol, and is REQUIRED to be able to use the internet. If your port 80 was blocked, you would not be able to load Google.com and you would not have been able to post.

    that's not exactly true,

the webserver is at port 80, but the browser can use any port to connect to a websites port 80

for example right now firefox on my pc is using the port 22226 to connect to ragezone on port 80

my port 80 has nothing to do with the connection yet I'm connected to a port 80

the thing is, blocking the 80th port prevents the user from hosting a webserver, but not from connecting to web servers

But it is the default port, and as such no ISP would ever block it, unless they were cutting you off for breaching their fair-use policy.
