Has to be a record, breaking win8 in less than 5min, haha.

You should rarely need an admin account, like ever. Windows has just spoiled people for so long, it's a massive security issue tbh. That was pretty much exactly what User Account Control fixed.

ive ALWAYS done this on all windows, first time had a problem never ad a problem, they only say that for ppl who dont know what there doing, btw UAC littrly does nothing, to slow or prevent(HAHHAHAAHAHHA) hackers and other suck programs, it just slows the user down.

It removes admin privileges from being on by default, to a user popup. It was a stop on the road to getting users to accept they don't need to be an admin all the time, which everyone was use to on XP.

unless you did the "Administrator " (with the space) for a name, there you where full admin, and you still could do it the other way, witch ive always done. its just adds problems if your not.

but why am i telling you this, please read your sig, it explanes it better then i could.

i like you be able to use my computer with full freedom, now you could say its not about that but it is to me.

And you got your freedom. However it comes at a price. The Windows store requires a MS account, if you don't use one, then you can't use it.

Windows 8 is definitely not for personal use. I'd never install that trash on my PC for everyday use..

    I'm sorry
but what do you expect to go RIGHT when your using a phone's OS redesigned on a PC to be used for tablets.
If companies have to force a new operating system on computers to get people to use it theres a reason.

There's a reason why the admin account is separate...

Mainly because if everyone who used the computer had full admin privileges on everything, that would bring up security issues.
I'm not sure why you would think it was a good idea to delete the "user" account and just run with the admin one.

The store being disabled on the admin account is more than likely protection from said security issues, and I wouldn't necessarily classify it as a "bug" of Windows 8. Especially not considering it "broken" as some others have said.

Maybe because I have new hardware?
This has nothing to do with the thread topic.

The Apple App Store requires an Apple ID and the Google Play store requires a Google account (from what I remember when I owned a Galaxy S), go figure

Pretty big flaw yeah. Most people are too used to using an Admin account for everything.

Because you don't NEED to use that Admin account. What you're doing is following the same habits you had on XP/Vista/7 & are now assuming it's all the same. It isn't.

The Admin account has admin privileges turned on ALL THE TIME. This is a safety issue for both multiple users on the same machine as well as giving that same Admin access to malicious infections you get. Get a virus on a Admin account and it does more damage than getting it on a guest account - It has more access to infect more places. To combat this the Admin account is only required when you're doing actual Administrating, otherwise you need to use a normal account with the UAC prompts to give you Admin control INSTEAD of it being always on.

Regardless of how true this is, there are lots of 'power users' (like me) who need to be on admin accounts and have the popups disabled because they actually pop up so much because of the work I do. Key point, responsible enough to not let something like a virus fuck us over. I've had no antivirus for the past 2 years and have never gotten infected, do regular scans ofc but never get hits.

My solution to that has always been to disable the screen dim. That part causes the lag in it and getting rid of it causes the message to come up instantaneously.

I have no feelings about it, but I'm definitely interested in how it will work. My guess is that they will put Metro where it should, as an option for touchscreens.

It seems every other operating system they make is good, so... Windows 7 > 8 > 9. :O

Re: i just installed windows 8

It's a running joke with some truth in it. In the end what MS does is implements some new features, they get feedback and they make a new and improved version, since that version is fine, they move on to new features again and the cycle repeats itself.

In the end there are quite a few that really weren't that bad. Vista wasn't that bad, yes it needed some changes, but it was also a different time, people were still using 32bit a lot, using 2GB memory etc, by the time 7 came around, people moved on to 4GB and 64bit. So aside from 7 changing some of the things that people didn't like, it was also because hardware improved giving you a better experience.

It's the same that people thought for a long time that Google was making speed improvements with Android (though not sure if 4.1 is actually faster or not), what really happened is that people moved from their 1ghz smartphone to a dual/quad core with more memory etc.\
In reality the speed of Android stood pretty much still. But because people get better phones and Android has been improved in other areas, people believe it too be much faster.

So yeah that's what constantly happens with every OS really, they don't get much faster, but because hardware improves and because newer features will give you a better experience, the feeling is quite different.

That said, Windows ME was the biggest pile of shit ever created.
