Lucky :( I can't afford a SSD yet D:
I'll keep it in mind but I think $185 is a little outside my price range, I'd just get a $100-$120ish board and put the rest towards a new CPU/HSU or something of that nature. My current board isn't a real expensive one either and when I used to play BF2, I use to run @ 3.72GHz fine so I just can't really justify purchasing a $185 motherboard if all I really want is sata3 to get the best out of the SSD.
For the most part my current machine is a bit overkill, I don't game very often but like every couple of weeks I'll just edit a video or something so I just need a little bit of ticker in it to get me through that.
I'll will take the advice on waiting though for the Piledriver CPUs to come into the market.
Thanks for the help ;)
the 256GB Crucial M4 is currently $199 @ NewEgg & Amazon. If they're still at that price in the morning i'm off to the bank depositing cash and placing my order... totals $207 delivered to Western Australia fuck yea.
Prices are going down all across the board for SSD's! Newegg has a 120gb Sata III SSD @ $99, and they are on sale all over the place.
This can mean only one thing: They are milking us of our money before 12/12/2012. End of the world baybay, ohhh yeah!
Noticed that, the 256GB Crucial M4 got down to $197 and the it's been fluctuating around the $216 mark and just as I check now, it's $199.99.
Tempted to get a second one for laptop.
ooosh, if i hadn't had just bought an ssd ide go with the 256.
I paid 160 eur for the 128gb M4 not too long ago :/ Talk about paying double price o.o
fuark price is fluctuating a bit, been jumping between 197 and 239 over the past hour, i'll wait & hope it goes back down then pick one up.
If the prices for a 256gb end up staying below 200, chances are I will end up picking up two of them.
Didn't go back down, at $250 now s i passed. Buy.com has them for $189 though, but only US shipping.
Im going to wait till they are around $170, then make the jump. That way, I can buy 2, pop them in Raid 0, or use 1 for my PC< and 1 for my laptop. Better yet.. 2 for my PC, and move my current 120gb Kingston to my Laptop.
Picked up my SSD today.

Just going through the process of tweaking the system settings from the link Rishwin posted on the first page (here), probably going to read up about each of the things first before I mess around with it completely.
Also didn't get any screws, I knew I wouldn't get the bracket but thought I'd get the screws at least, so need to see if the IT bloke has some tomorrow, I got pretty much every other size/type except for the one I need lol. I also need to get a adapter for to put the SSD in, currently it's just sitting there loose.
Btw I still need to do a firmware update - should of done it first but oh well.
