    jDownloader using loads of memory?

Whenever I leave my jDownloader (javaw.exe) on for a few hours, my RAM usage shoots up to the point where it doesn't have enough left to properly function.

I have 4gb (2x2gb) of RAM (but on Windows 7 32bit) so only 3.something GB is used, right?

Does this happen to any of you too? With IDM (Internet Download Manager) I didn't have RAM issues but I refuse to go back to it since jDownloader is just so much better.

Stays pretty stable for me but I usually don't leave it open for long periods of time. I'll try leaving it on for a few hours & see. Windows 7 64bit / 4gb ram btw.

    Alright, thanks.

    EDIT:
It's using over 100mb already, running for less than 30 minutes.

Ok, 30 mins of running it and currently downloading 4 videos to FLV/MP3 it's using 410mb . It's dropped to 110 after it has finished converting. Only thing I can suggest is close it after you've finished DL'ing some stuff then reopening.

I just found out, that the only way to get my memory usage back to normal after downloading is to restart my pc. Just closing jDownloader doesn't do the trick :\

    Have you tried http://www.jfitz.com/RAMpage/ ?

I'm not entirely sure if it works on W7 but it's worth a shot.

I have the same problem but than with MSN >,>
After a long period of time it starts eating my RAM...
I had it on 1GB RAM for MSN >,<
But what I did is reinstalling the crappy stuff and it should help at least about 200mb memory xD
It helped me save 200mb RAM lol

Not much else I can suggest then boss :(, at least it's just a minor inconvenience rather than JDownloader causing BSOD's every 20 minutes :P

you do actually need to have very good computer manners, great computer administration experience and ability.
you need to be able to tell if an application if bogus or not in 3 seconds just from the name/installer.

having a computer that runs everything is getting more and more difficult, since there are more and more idiots coding shit.

    jdownloader is surprisingly stable.

there are literally 1000's of reasons why any one piece of software doesnt work on your computer and one of the reasons just might be that you by your lack of experience and knowledge installed some program called "Hard disk size increaser and monitor expander".

at the end of the day only about 1% of all computer malfuctions are down to software/hardware.

IT IS ALWAYS THE USER !!
