As long as you can see the slot for the end of the keyboard wire on the motherboard, just slide it on with a bit of force (not to much now) and pop it in (screw it in if it came with screws). Jeez, why is it that one of your computers isn't working, all the time?
Is it wireless or cabled?
/dumb question
If he needs instructions for it, then its probably one of the internal keyboards. Especially if its coming from Gateway
You don't know how to replace it?!!!!
First, find the screws, o damn ill just google and edit with the link

Here
Ninja. According to the Tech monkey, i was speaking to at gateway, this is one of there hardest models to replace a keyboard for.
But no. The Dbag told me that AFTER I told him let me send it in, "You gave it the college try, better then most could do, for the fact that this is one of our hardest models to replace the keyboard in."
I just wanted to... I wanted to say alot of things. ill leave it at that.
Only fucking bright side to all of this, is the replacement then sent me i get to keep.. if you can call that a brightside..
It is a brightside.... Sell it on ebay.
i wanna kno where they hired him. they send you a keyboard with no instructions. and then when you bring it in he tells you that it was the hardest model? after u asking before they sent you the keyboard if you could bring it in? the universe is makiing bigger and bigger idiots these days.
i know. it was over the fone help. after i gave it my try, he tells me its the hardest model to install a keyboard in. -.-:2gunsfiring_v1::2gunsfiring_v1::2gunsfiring_v1:
Why tell you that after you ask to just bring it in?
Who knows. i wish the fucker, woulda told me it before he started to run me through installing it.
^^ I take it you are trying to replace a broken / worn Laptop Keyboard...
well this can be very Easy or VERY Very Difficult.....
It depends on your laptop . . .. you should only have to strip down about half your laptop . . .
it really depends on the laptop design / model...
I have personally taken apart around 4 - 5 laptops for various reasons... repair / keyboard replacement . . . i hate it each time i doit . . . so many screws to keep track of . . . not to mention how cramped components can get. . . *thank god i have agile fingers ^^.
Anyways commonly on *Most laptops i have taken apart... you haave to start by figuring out how to remove the upper case cover. . .
These are usualy secured by a few screws on the bottom of the laptop ( especially under the battery compartment) and then pressure clips (Pop and snap style) jimy it with a thin tool and see if it pops off. . . dont use too much pressure . . . use common sense. . . .
BTW MOST LAPTOP SERVICE MANUALS CAN BE FOUND ONLINE IF YOU LOOK!
These can help alot when you get stumped . . .
Worst case you take it to a comp repair shop and they can doit for you for like 50$.... -_- if you dont feel up to it.
It's not that hard . . . GET A BIG EMPTY TABLE TO DOIT ON IF YOU TRY YOU WILL NEED THE SPACE!!! ^^ LOTS OF SCREWS and ALL DIFFERENT SIZES!!! ^^
Agrees with Xenosaga21.
My laptop ( Toshiba Portege M500 ) has a black strip, just above the keyboard. Theres two little slits in it where you can put in a screw driver and lift it off. Underneath that theres two screws which hold down the board. Once you take those off, you can disconnect the keyboard, and from there you can replace it, or access the RAM slots. If your RAM slots arent on the bottom of you laptop, most likely they will be under your keyboard, so another good place to check is in the manual that came with the laptop itself. The instructions in mine under adding/replacing ram shows how to remove the keyboard too...... so take a look in your laptop manual.
Im sending it in. I got fucked with Gateways hardest model to install a keyboard, wish i knew that before hand, thogh im under Warrentee. so idc.
