    Motorola Xoom

Anyone has this tablet? I'm thinking of buying one before I move in a few months, my current laptop has no screen lol, I've been using a desktop monitor. Laptops are great and all, but I'll just be using it for the occasional movie, music and paying some bills online. I need something cheap though...

Looked at the iPad 2 today and meh, just seems like I'm paying $600 just to get screwed.

Tablets suck in general, IMO. I bought an iPad 2, and I regret it to a point. When you get a tablet, you lose a lot of functionality that a normal computer has. But then again, it would do everything that you listed above. I'd recommend searching "Xoom reviews" on YouTube, and see if it appeals to you. Also, can't you get an iPad 2 for $499?

$500 for the 16GB, but looking at my /pirate/ spree last night of 10GB of music, 32GB would be the least needed for an iPad (The Xoom comes standard with 32GB, plus I think it has an external SD slot). Also, Apple has an issue with Adobe, and that's a huge problem with me.

Actually, my father just pointed out where he got his laptop a few hours ago; Satellite C655D-S5048

$319 savings + I get more out of it.... Damn. :/

I would personally recommend a laptop over a tablet any day. Sure they seem appealing at first, but they can become a hassle. Especially if you want to do something outside of simply surfing the web, watching movies, etc.

If you wish to investigate further, BlackBerry PlayBook might be a good choice.
