My build (Unsure for missing parts).

    Hey guys.

Here are the specifications of my upcoming build.

Am I missing any parts, 'cause I'm ordering them and I'm going to build them for my first time in my life, and I'm not sure how to build it.

    Mobo: XFX NF 790i Ultra 3-Way SLI DDR3 w/ Intel Core 2 Quad 9300(Can I put 2 9800GX2 in this mobo?)
HDD: Western Digital 1TB 32MB Cache
    GFX: XFX 9800GX2 1GB
    RAM: Crucial Ballistix PC2 6400 2GBX2 (4GB)
    Writer: Sony 20X DVD+-RW (DL/RAM) SATA
    S.C.: Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeAudio
PSU: OCZ PCPower & Cooling 750W
    Case: Lian-Li PC-G7 Alu 2X12cm Fan+Side Window
    Mon: Samsung 19" 931BW 2MS/DVI
    Fan: Thermaltake V.1 CPU Cooler

Is there anymore parts needed? And is this good to run Crysis @ Very High?

They'll all work but you could save a lot of money on your build, for instance 2 GX2's is a fucking waste of money, 1 GX2 will be more than sufficient also the hard drive is gonna be a bit more expensive than 2 500gb hdd's so i'd swap that out as well, and if you feel you really must run 2 GX2's your gonna need to bump up that psu for around a 1000w otherwise you might suffer performance wise.

And if you can afford it send some that money thats burning a hole in your pocket my way ;)

    1)Replace that GX2 with an 8800GT.
2)Change the monitor to one that supports at least 1680x1050
3)As Ramuthra said, 2x 500gb if you REALLY need all that space.
4)Get the Xtreme Gamer X-Fi. Anything below that is the cut down version with most the features disabled.

Don't just go for the biggest and most expensive parts. Think "Am I ever going to need all this power, or am I just buying it for e-peen and bragging rights?"

I'm not sure about changing the card, because 8800GT will be able to run Crysis on Very High, 2XAA and a resolution that suits my screen?

Ignore the nay-sayers about the GX2. I've got one, drivers might be a bit dodgy at the moment, but it's a helluva card. Make sure you can actually fit the thing inside your case too, I had to do a fair bit of jumbling to get it to fit into my Antec 900.

Alright. I planned on getting 9800GX2 ftw :D.

@ellmondo: I plan on getting more graphic cards if I have the money. And n790i only supports DDR3.

Lets see, you want the power of two high end graphics cards for rendering at what? 1280x1024?

Crysis looks and runs fine on very high with a single 8800GT. There's no need to waste money. If you had something like a 24" at 1920x1200 like I do, then a GX2 would be justified.

so 24" does not mean it has a high resolution, im using a 42" tv for a screen and its only got a high resolution because its 1080p

The 9800GX2 is a waist of money and getting 2 of them is an even bigger waist of money. Why? You can get better for less and with 2 of them the performance is so random that it doesn't justify the extra $600.

If you want to run Crysis at 19x10 with any level of AA then you are out of luck. Though if you want to run it at 19x10 with no AA and max AF then want to know what your best solution is? Dual 8800GTX. Why those older cards? They are more powerful at higher resolutions then the 9800X2 or dual 9800GTX and they actually work unlike dual 9800X2.

G80 > G92 at high res or with high levels of AA

Also I hope you do know that if you get the 790i board then the RAM you have there wont work with it. Why? Because the 790i = DDR3 version of the 780i.

24" PC Monitor (1920x1200). Not TV. Monitors have always been high definition, in comparison to normal TVs that is.

So for DDR2 RAM I need 780i mobo? So I'll be getting dual 8800GTX then.
