MySQL gets hung up while installing [Windows 7]

Hi,

I've spent the past 4 hours trying to get MySQL to install on my laptop. I previously has it installed via Xampp but have had all that removed as I'm wanting to move onto IIS.

I've downloaded it via their direct website, how ever once I get through the setup menu and click 'Execute' to begin installing it never goes any further. It just stops. I then decided to try installing it via WPI (Web Platform Installer) and all goes well until I get to here;



I've tried clicking cancel, un-installing what installed, restarting laptop, trying again. I've done it for version 5.1 and 5.5 now. Nothing will work. I've tried a few google searches but nothing came back that work.

Anyone any ideas?
