    Need a Laptop

I was thinking of getting a laptop once I make some more money.

I'm not good with speeds and stuff.

What's a good speed laptop? I want to use it for Internet, Music, Gaming, Photoshop, MSN, Hosting Servers.. Stuff like that.

Can someone point out a good speed laptop, link me or view this website here and show me a nice one?

(Nice as in speed and space, and affordable)

TBH don't use a laptop for gaming. They overheat easily. For media use get a laptop with a 17" screen or smaller. A too big laptop dost serve it purpose of mobility. I wud go for ASUS or ACER. SONY is a rip off. Get something like a Core 2 Duo 2Ghz and 2GB of RAM with of corse a DVD RW drive and around 120GB or more HDD space. Good luck searching for one. Hope this helps.

17" screens is a waist. Too big, use too much power, and just beats the point.

Laptops need to be balanced for performance and battery power. My suggestion would be a 15" screen, 5400RPM HDD, and a 1.83ghz CPU (Core Duo or Core 2 Duo).

That will give you decent performance and decent battery life.

Also for < $1000 CAD you wont get a laptop that can game. Even for $1500 USD you can't get one that can game well. Not to mention a laptop that can game well doesn't have a long battery life.

As for what brand. Get a Dell with the full coverage warranty. They are good though they do break easily but is offsetted by the warranty.

And to Slaterking, Sony laptops are actually good. Very durable and hard as hell to break.

I enjoy my Sony laptop, but as previously stated, use a desktop for gaming. Hands down.

Start > Control Panel > System, alternatively for a more in depth look grab a copy of CPU-Z or Everest

As mentioned avoid 17" monitors , my Toshiba has one and battery life at max is like...1.5 hours.
