    New Desktop

My laptop needs replacement and since I wanted to buy a desktop, I thought why not building a desktop myself? This is what I came up with. I'd like to know what you guys think about it as in what I really should(n't) buy. My budget is around 400 / 500 euros.

    MotherBoard:€ 83,40(€ 70,08 excl. BTW)
    Gigabyte GA-P55-US3L

    CPU
    Intel Core i5-760: € 179,90(€ 145, 72 excl. BTW)
    Intel Core i5-760

    RAM:€ 49,10(€ 41,26 excl. BTW)
    Kingston ValueRAM 2x2GB

    Graphical card:
    GeForce GT 430 € 67,31(€ 56,56 excl. BTW)
    GeForce GT 430

    HDD:
    750 gb € 43,51(€ 36,56 excl. BTW)
Samsung SpinPoint F1 Desktop Class HD753LJ

    Voeding: € 57,55(€ 48,36 excl. BTW)
    550w
    Arctic Cooling Fusion 550R

This is my first time doing this and I'm not sure I got everything lol. I also need a new monitor so yah. Thanks for your advice =]

    Total inc btw: €413,46
    Total exc btw: €316,98*

*I might be able to get everything excl via my moms business.

What are you planning to do on it/ whaat OS?
I would upgrade your Powersupply but no need for fancy Arctic cooling.
I've got 2x2gb kingston ram at the moment, i think i need to upgrade it though.
You got an os for this, if not you may need to incl. price of windows. Some alright stuff there though, i need to upgrade to an I5/I7 (i got an I3 currently).

Good build. Thumbs up for P55 and i5 760. Thumbs down for value memory but budget :\
Also I see nothing wrong with power supply as long as you don't put 480 in it :D

    Re: New Desktop

I already got a legal version of windows 7 both 32- and 64-bit. planning to run 64-bit.

I'm running on a intel celeron M with 1 gig RAM atm lol XD. So I think this is a pretty nice update for meh x]. I don't know about upgrading the PSU, what would you recommend?

Also, is the cooler supplied with the CPU good enough? or should I replace it?

What would you be using your desktop primarily for?

If for gaming, I would reccomend you go with a nice AMD chip and upgrade your GPU. I recommend a GT460 at least.

You would want to get a better heatsink if you are really gonna overclock it to the max, like pushing voltages and so on.
