New PC Build - August 2014

    GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 770
    CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K
    MOBO: Asus Sabertooth Z87
    PSU: Corsair HX 750W
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 Low Profile CL10 16GB
    SSD: OCZ Vertex 4 512GB
    Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 550D

I'm not that much into hardware, and these are the parts I've decided based on budget. Which is at about 2k$ ~

If there are better parts out there for the same price or a tad bit more expensive, or if you're hellbent on making me buy a replacement, that's more expensive than the ones listed above, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance,
    Manno

Making builds for a year+ later is a waste of time. The stuff you've put in the build are mostly outdated by then.

Yeah, and now I need a desktop.

EDIT: There was a typo with the MOBO. Meant to buy Z87 not Z77.

The 770 is a waste of money.

Also, get a 256gb ssd and use the saved money on a hdd for storage. Writing all your data to a ssd will make it have a short life.

What GPU should I get instead?

I wanted to have all my software on the SSD, while having files and documents on a separate drive. I guess It's sufficient with a 256GB SSD.

I have all my software + main games on a 128gb ssd with 30gb left.

Gaming on a single screen even at 1080p you're not going to see much difference between a 660ti, 670 and 770, especially with a core i7.
