Well I have been neglecting my old desktop for a few months now since I got my new one . . . so I figured hmm what could I do that would be fun on it?
So I was like hey why not Oc it a little to see what it can run at ;)
The results surprised me somewhat and in actuality I can run some games respectably nice.
Bellow are the achieved results :) nothing outstanding but I thought Id share.
also everything is Stock Cooling with the exception of the Video card ;)
Gpu Temps 50c Idle / Cpu temps 58c Idle 65+ Under heavy Load. . .
Video Card Overclock (Using AtI Tool)
Video Card Make/Model = Asus Eax800xt 256 Pciex
Standard Clock Speeds 500/500
Achieved Stable Overclock 567mghz (core) / 548mghz (Memory)
Sadly I could not make it stabalize to 560mghz Memory speed which would of essentialy turned it into an X800 xt Platinum Edition ;/ o well. . .
Also I Ramped up the Pciex Frequency to 115 from 100 (still testing how far I can push that)
Cpu Make ( Pentium 4 3.4Ghz 1mb Cache HT 800 Fsb) (old I know)
Achieved Over clock 3.71 Ghz 860? Fsb around there forgot number since last test.
So all In all its a fairly respectable system again XD
Asus P5ad2 - E Premium Motherboard
3.71 Ghz P4 HT
567core/548mem/Gpu x800 xt
2gb Ram @~ 860? Fsb ~ 566? MGhz
The Ram Is running in Dual Channel and it isn't even Ram made for overclocking . . just good old Kingston Value select Ram . . .
Im looking around my basement now for a bunch of old systems to OC for fun ;) My only regret is that I didn't OC it back when it was Brand New so I could of enjoyed the results ;P
Anyone else have any interesting Oc Stories?/ Experiences ?
