I've just installed 64-bit win8 onto my laptop and so far it's pretty slow and clunky, and I'm struggling to get Chrome to work within Metro. This Start8 program boosts the speed of Win8 and I can keep Metro? (which I've fallen in love with actually)

Look in the Start8 settings. You can choose what the windows key does and what the start button does.

Well I guess that varies from user to user. I personally love the clean look of Windows 8.

What are you talking about? I don't see how this has anything to do with the statement I made before.

Start8 is simply a start button with extra options to limit the integration of metro. It won't speed anything up. I honestly have no idea why it's slow, my netbook has improved in speed and my Windows 7 was clean as well, in fact I may just have more installed now then before.
The netbook is a Asus 1201N (dual atom, 2GB, ION chipset etc)

You talk utter shit. I said the issues are unpredictable, you come up with some random crap about percentages that don't teach you shit about how predictable issues are. Unless of course you predict that smashing your HDD in with a hammer will cause it to stop working, in which case I agree.

Each component has faults, all software have faults, because you cannot predict all these faults and you can definitely not predict what these faults will cause, and what faults will be caused because of the previous faults etc, you simply cannot predict the outcome.

So really, what is there to learn? Maybe you should share this knowledge with the world, because right now are best engineers and developers/coders are still making mistakes. Go one, let us know how we can repair that, you have no idea how your knowledge would change the world!

Or do you admit that in the end you can't predict 99% of the computer problems?

I'm still currently at Windows 7. I've previously been too late with download Windows 8. Unless someone can link me to an download link that still makes me able to use Windows 8. Would be much appreciated.

yep you can. every compoint on you pc CAN have a 1 to 80% chance to break. im not talking about a video card or main bord as a hole bit the little bit and pice that make up what they are, and really when it goes you can take your time to find it and replace it but every says it faster jut to replace the hole thing, and it not engineers misstakes, its the prosses to make them that give this chance of breakage.

I am a retarded person and my English comes out from a donkey's ass.

That sums up his post which makes no sense whatsoever.

    Eh?

Aside from that making little to no sense, the parts that I did get is completely besides my point.

First of all you can't predict a part breaking down, saying there is a chance that it will break down means nothing. That's like saying you can predict death, because everyone will die at some point. Predict something to break means you can actually predict when it will happen, so unless you build in a timer, there is no way in hell you can predict it.
But really this was about software, not hardware. Now all code has faults in it, software is actually written with this knowledge and has many safety measures in it to prevent it from crashing, or doing all sorts of damage. However obviously this is not perfect either, not to mention that some crashes cannot be prevented or have a way from at least keeping it from doing more damage.
On top of that all, mistakes can be build on mistakes. See it as a building, buildings have lots of safety measure, that even if things go bad, other safety measures still keeps it from collapsing (this is 1 of the reasons why people do not believe terrorists were behind the twin towers, since it had safety measures which seemed to have been completely ignored when the planes flew in - but that's a different story). But what happens if you make a mistake in building the safety measure and something somewhere else goes wrong? You get a cascade of mistakes taking everything down.

So in software, 1 program can make mistakes, causing issues in Windows, this makes Windows unable to handle other software, at which point they crash as well, before you know it you get crashes all over.
Of course the mistakes can also come from hardware, for example a HDD that has damaged (bad) sectors etc. There is so much that can go wrong, so many things that can influence others things, that the possibilities are endless.

    Eh? You are contradicting yourself.

On one hand you're saying every failure is predictable & then on the other hand you're saying they only test a small portion & there are so many individual pieces that the chance of failure is high.

But regardless of that, what you're talking about is COMPLETELY different to what Gohan was first referring to. He was talking about SOFTWARE errors caused by holes in programming which can cause unpredictable issues even on identical systems.

Topics never really stay on topic. :P

    But I'll give it a shot. ;)

Hopefully next week I'll get my new internet connection (currently connected through my phone), so I will be installing Windows 8 on my desktop. I will be interested in how multiple PC's work with the same account etc.
Has anyone got any experience with multiple PC's? Are there quick options to install the same stuff as on a different PC? What about the layout? What happens if you are running 2 logged in PC's at the same time?

I've always been wondering how Windows 8 would be functioning and what is different related to Windows 7 and what is better. So i might install it, and if it doesn't work out, then i will just put back Windows 7 again.
