Windows 8 is not bad. I like it. I still like Windows 7 more. Start8 though helps me out, it's one of the reasons why I'm still with Windows 8.

I totally agree with you. Windows 8 is great for tablets and touch screen computers. Windows 7 is great for normal PC's and laptops.

I have a normal laptop and love Windows 8 with the assistance of Start8. You don't need a touch screen to enjoy it.

Windows 8 was made for touch screen devices and it clearly shows that. However with the addition of Start8, W8 will function just like W7, only faster.

W8 with Start8 is imo in every way superior to W7.
W8 without Start8 is imo not as good as W7 for most users when used on regular laptops and desktops.

Or you can use something like this infrared Touch 8 digital pen to give any normal screen full touchscreen functionality.

Hopefully this can help drive monitor to create more touchscreen monitors instead of the point with a mouse and click style.

    No it's not.

Monitor manufacturers focusing on touchscreens rather than traditional LCD/LED panels is EXACTLY what is going to be happening over the next few years.

Yeah and the sun is hot because watermelon has seeds.

You're going to be seeing a lot more marketed touchscreen monitors.

You can already see that in the past half year, various hybrid systems have been shown with Windows 8, some more successful then others, but still they know they need to create these kind of systems.
And I'm guessing that's why Microsoft is forcing this, they are forcing a change in how we use computers, they've had that vision for a long time.

Offtopic, But is still needed to be read:
Today, In class we we're on the school computers. I looked to my left at my friends computer and it was missing the start button.
I was like OH GOD ITS A WINDOWS 8 COMPUTER! (No offense) But it was just a minor bug thats all.

My sister thinks Windows 8 is horrid. Anyway I can convince her?

Re: So what's your experience with Windows 8 so far?

My friend is tasked with informing and mass-selling Windows 8 to corporations at our local tech store. He took an eight week course that basically taught him all of the features, and everything to be a good salesperson. He was just telling me that if he wasn't being paid 20$ an hour, he wouldn't dare lie to all of these good people on how "good" Windows 8 is, when it's just awful.

It's not my personal review, but my friend's relatively technologically adapted. He knows his shit.

Re: So what's your experience with Windows 8 so far?

I used to think it was awful and I even bought Start8 for it, but I decided I would remove Start8 and get used to the new start screen. After all, it will be staying and the start menu won't be coming back now. So after about a week of having both W7 and W8 installed on my laptop I have used W8 all of the time (surprisingly)! I actually really like it. The only reason I am keeping W7 installed is for some of the games I can't be bothered to transfer them :P

I think if people give Windows 8 a go they would probably like it and maybe find it easier than Windows 7. I don't have a touch screen but I love the modern interface.

You will probably find that on some laptops like mine with the "Synaptics Touchpad" thing, they have done some stuff with the software so you can use the swipe in and other features on the touchpad. For example, I can swipe in from the right and the charms bar appears as if it was being done on a touch screen. It makes it a bit easier for getting around quickly.

My school is not that smart what do you think?

That Google chrome OS is not the best thing you can probably use around schools, then you rather want to actually afford normal laptops with such OS as Windows (7) (XP).

We do have the normal computers, but we barely spend time on them, because we spend more time on to going on the laptop and just sitting around doing nothing (Only boring my ass out)

I recently said to my school that we need to only use the normal computers and not the Google chrome laptops because they are just worthless for what i actually think because many thing that are needing to be done can not be done.

I personally think that the computer is not for school use, because on school you need to do a lot of things related to Word and what not and you just do not have that on a Chrome computer, i think that the Chrome user is only for business use and what not.

My teacher did give some fun information that you can click the screen from the keyboard and that you then have a tablet, that is pretty nice however i still stand with my opinion.

I would want Windows 8 computers, do not know if they are good to be used on the schools, but if they are then school should really buy those rather then Google chrome laptops.
