What do you need it for?
I downloaded e-Speaking some time ago, it's a fun toy allowing you to control your computer with voice and has dictation feature. Don't remember whether it was a trial or freeware, though.
Negeta, I need it for playing around, thats why i dont wanna pay 30$ to have my fun for the night lmao :P
most voice to text programs are pretty poor in my experience

Umm... Learn to use Vista... A decent one is included in the Home Premium and Ultimate versions.

Yeah, the Vista one isn't too bad...Unless you're trying to do something such as Perl programming in notepad through it (which is actually not as bad as this video makes it out to be, the guy is just trying to be funny)--

Just make sure to use a decent microphone and to pronunciate (though it's still pretty lenient even if you don't pronunciate). Also, I'm sure this goes without saying, but don't have your TV on by your microphone. The Matrix + Speech to Text = No thank you.
Dragon naturally speaking is good from what I hear, unfortunately it's not free though.

Vista is better then the version we have here. Got the one from 3 years ago and you need to speak into a mike reading a book for about 3-4 hours to program the software to you voice (and this need to be repeated for every user). After that as long as you talk in that one tone of voice it works but if you change your tone it throws off the software and gives you crap.
It's good in theory but in reality it's not very useful as your voice changes depending on how tired you are and if you are sick or not.
The vista one isn't as accurate but you don't need to worry about your voice changing nor do you have to worry about talking into a mic for 3-4 hours to set it up.
