    Clean OS, nice display.

I wish Samsung got to make the next Nexus but this will really put LG back in to the phone game again, which is good for prices.

$350 is a steal, can go even lower and get 8gb for $299, NO CONTRACT. You can't beat that deal, really.

Still debating with myself on whether or not I want to give Windows Phone a shot. I messed with it briefly and really liked it, though I don't think I want to switch from Google to M$ quite yet.

Why wouldn't you want to switch from Google to MS. Both are shit companies who want every detail of your life, that's not gonna change.

WP8 supports native code which WP7 didn't, the difference is that a lot of the apps missing on WP8, will no longer be missing, releasing a app on WP8 is as simple as making it work with the system (how to boot, work with the device and buttons) and possibly some design changes to fit the OS, that's all really, because all the other code will work. On top of that it will make it easier to make apps really fast. Whatsapp is quite slow to boot on WP7, this is not because the system doesn't allow it, but because the makers can't be bothered to make a proper silverlight app, in WP8 they won't have to use silverlight anymore so I expect they will make a fast app running on different code.

The only real advantage that Android has, is that you can tweak more, you can change everything you want, if you don't care about that, then WP8 is definitely a option.

As for the Nexus 4, it looks like a great deal, though I'm guessing that you shouldn't be expecting much from the quality of the screen, camera etc. Not saying they will all be bad, but considering the price, they must have cut on some parts, the question is what and whether you care about that.

Personally I'm going to get the Nokia Lumia 920, aside that I find it a beautiful phone, it also has various features that I like, like a really good camera with optical stabilization (first time in a smartphone), remote charging, great screen which can be controlled while wearing gloves, can go upto 60hz and the highest pixel per inch screen used in any production device. All of those things make the device very attractive, with the design of both WP8 and the device itself, just finishes the product. Whether you want to pay like 550 euro/dollar for it, depends on the person.

I would go for WP8 if I didn't get myself a tablet. Problem with my old phone is screen cracked and was not usable. The current phone has old slow 3g. Now all I need a phone that can do wifi tethering and support decent network speed.

Nexus 4 is just right for this scenario since it supports my carriers (tmobile) HSPA 42Mbps network which is all over my city. And it's cheap.

I loved WP7 on HTC HD2 because of C# which I am big fan of.

On side note, maybe sell nexus and old phone + saving for n4 and get a WP8 :\

    Re: The Nexus 4 thread

Looks great overall, I'm having a hard time convincing myself not to buy it on release date but I should be waiting for reviews and battery/scratch/blender/sledgehammer tests are done on it. The price is exceptional, and I whilst it's made by LG who have made some shockers in the past, Google wouldn't of applied the Nexus name to it if it wasn't a good build quality as well.

I can live with 16GB internal storage only, whilst it would be nice to have a 32GB+ model, my employer pays for my bill (sim only, I still pay for whatever phone I want eg. Nexus 4). I get 3GB/month currently and I haven't even come close to reaching the 3GB cap even with music/radio/podcast streaming I do now.

I've invested time/money into the Android platform, and I don't think I'll switch to WP8 any time soon, whilst it's nice to use for short term I get bored of it as I see the UI as a novelty thing, the only thing I really enjoy out of it, is the scrolling, you can't get much smoother then that - but I'm still on my HD2 and never played with S3 or whatever the top of the line Android phone is currently.

    Re: The Nexus 4 thread

Loving the look of the Nexus 4, I'm considering selling my iPhone 4S to buy a handset. Shame it doesn't support 4G, but I don't see 4G being available on my carrier for some time.

edit: also just felt the need to note this, Google's promotional material for the Nexus 4 felt very Apple-ish in presentation and in wording...
