[TUT] How to speed up your start menu [TUT]
Hey,
As the title says i am going to teach you how to speed up your start menu. Ok just simply follow the easy step below!!!
- Go to Start, then Run.
- Now in the text box type the follwing: regedit.exe, now press Run.
- When Registry Editor comes up look for HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
- Once you have clicked on that loads of option will show below it, now look for Desktop.
- Once it has opened Desktop, don't scroll down keep the scroll bar at the top and if you look at the bottom you will see a tab called "MenuShowDelay" double click on that.
- Now you will get a box that show "40" in the text box (If i remember correctly).
- Now replace "40" with "1", then click ok.
- Once you have done that now restart your computer/laptop.
Now when you restart your computer you WILL notice the difference!
Anyway i hope you enjoyed my tutorial and i hope it worked out for you.

Only problem is that when u are running quite some applications, this so called 'tweak' will make your start menu go very sluggish.

Changing the delay from 40 milliseconds to 1 millisecond isn't really much of a noticable difference. That's going from 0.04 seconds to 0.001. Are you ever going to notice that? No.

Yey.... Playing with your registry. I strongly recommend not doing this. Playing with your registry is like playing Russian roulette. One mistake and say good-bye to a stable system.

My start menu 'opening' is actually quite fast. ^^
If you don't know jack about computers, then wtf are you messing with your registery?
I done that once; It fucked up the whole thing, all it said on bootup was
'Intel Quad Core
3.5GHz'
I had to reset the whole thing.
