I'd like to know what I can get for roughly 1.5k USD.
I want two GPU's, as I run multi monitor setup.
Any recommendations ?

get 2 nVidia GTX 280's then
More Specific ?
As I recall, there are different types of 280's
err theres diff types of GTX's like the 260 / 280
I would wait for the ATI 4870, then get crossfire. The card overall kicks ass and has 800 Shader Processors, its also GDDR5.
But if you're rushed, buy the 4850, its just as good and very cheap ($200).
The nVIDIA GTX 260 ($400) / 280 ($650) are excellent, but prices are high. I wouldn't buy it because in a few months, the price will be less then half and there will be a better card. It happens all the time.

I bought two of these.
I'll see how they perform once I get them.
The next time I'm going to upgrade, I'll get a new MB and a third such card, will then run Tri SLI.
For all around setup i'd suggest 2 Samsung T250's and 1 GTX280 honestly just one GTX280 is more than my dual 9800's and those blow away pretty much any game i can throw at it full specs on my T220HD monitor
As I said, I'm on Multi Monitor setup, 4 in total, and I'm using Samsung, 24"Wide.
Nvidia have confused me with there GTX 200 series
is the GTX 200 series really the 10000 series?
No, GTX 260/280 are the CUDA cards..
Dont confuse yourself with trying to bump it up to a number its not... 9800 GTX is the last of the line and they had to start over teh count, hence, the 260/280 series. Smart move on there part, as I wouldnt want to be buying a 72950 GX2+++ 10 years from now.
Any 8xxx or higher series card is capable of CUDA. They just havn't released the drivers for most yet.
Everyone has their liking.
Got the cards last night, and I must say they perform uberly.
Yes Crossfire > SLI. But that's because of drivers. And I mean they scale better then SLI. SLI still got the most 3DMark points -.-
That's not always true, I've seen some benchies where putting two cards in SLI gave an 80-90% increase.
Yes, crossfire tends to scale much better than SLI.
280 is a waste of money in comparison to ATI's 4870.
Get your facts straight, the GTX280 beats the 9800GX2.
