What OS do you have?

Ubuntu all the way.
Second i have a windows xp sp2 in a box for gaming, and i'm planning on buying a mac cause i rather have quality of apple + unix then buy a 4 times better machine to achieve the same performance with windows that will slow down on longer terms anyway...

it's that game manufactos don't support linux else it would have beaten the system already ( capitalism... ) now, mac has to wield the unix pride, and it does it damn well, a safe & sound, easy to use and stable OS like it's ment to be, just bad it isn't opensource but hell, it's apple so you get what you paid for...

and all you people claiming jeej windows 7 is better.

You have Windows XP on your 2nd computer, so what are you calling us noobs for using windows?

Only reason I won't use apple is because they're way overpriced in my eyes, never used one, might buy one some day..
And by the way, if you're saying Windows 7 is worse then vista, you never used vista, or you never used windows 7, because it's way better. It's even running faster on my computer then XP did.

I'm sorry, but the biggest noob here is you. Apple will not get you any better performance with games. In matter of fact you will need to spend 300% more money to achieve same performance. Of course if you want to surf web and write poems it will be ok. But if you want to play Crysis... dude MAC who can run Crysis at max will cost about 4-6k on the other hand pc who can run Crysis on max will cost about 1k.

IMO you are just another product of advertisement influence.

Apple MAC OS X as an os its better than widnows even in games.However during that companys don't support apple for games(in all titles)that's why we say windows is gaming OS


The only disadvantage that mac computers have for games than a PC is hard disc because as a default apple give in their products hd with 5k rpm rather than the more normal pcs have 7,5k rpm.And if you want to add a 7,5k rpm hd in mac or 10 its too expensive

Finally some users say that Microsoft have direct x.But ask some gaming programmers if Direct x is better than opengl(and its forks).He will say you no.Direct x is very good for games in windows because it helps you build them(it have ready functions and ect)but opengl is opensource and you can work on it and make it as you want(better or worse)

The only think that Microsoft wins is the compatibility.(hardware,software,games).Only that
