Anyone know where big game companies like Nexon host their games with? I know most probably own their own machines but they must store it in a data centre. And data centres usually offer a service to build a machine for you.

usually in multiple places. I know that nexon global has servers on both the east and west coast. Nexon europe has servers in each individual country.
You really want to place ur servers as close to ur players as possible, to mninimize any lag.
Not sure about Nexon, but most MMO publishers have an office either on the east or west US coast and have in-house servers.
If they're big enough, they own the data center. Google & Microsoft have several dedicated data centers, i believe one of Google's is water-cooled from the lake it sits on.Originally Posted by D3Trix
