[Fixed] Windows 7/10 check for update errors :(

Hello everyone recently i had problem with my windows now being genuine but i had that issue fixed. It is registered now but the only problem is when i check for updates it just loads and loads and loads and loads and i tried to install win 10 using media creation tool and it got to checking for updates and load and load and load i went to sleep for around 7-8 hours and woke up and it was still checking for updates no percent nothing. If anyone can please help it would be very nice.

You don't have to bump your thread all the time ...

Navigate to “C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download”, and delete all the files in that folder. (You need Administrator privileges to do this) Now open an elevated command prompt (administrator) and type

And press enter. Good luck.

It stays there i tried installing windows 10 again and it got to checking for updates and infinite looped.

Make sure you have more than 6gb of room on your HD.

I have 25 GB atm



Does anyone have any ideas? I just honestly want win 10 cause its faster then win 7 -_- i have tried all that i know about PC which is a lot xD so if anyone has any ideas let me know please.

First try this:

• Click the start button and type in services.msc
• Stop the Windows Update Service.
• Delete the contents of the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder
• Start the Windows Update Service.
• Try Windows Update again.

Then just wait....sometimes the percentage doesn't update visually but it is downloading the updates in the background.

Monolith Nope did not work now i get a error which i don't know if is a good or bad sign instead of infinite loop.

First off download and install Malwarebytes. Do a complete scan. Then try again.
If that doesn't work run this:

You must be registered to see links

If that doesn't work:

Open an admin command prompt and type:

net stop wuauserv
cd %systemroot%
ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
net start wuauserv

Then reboot windows and try to update again.

I have fix my problem guys I did a little batch coding and change some files and just installed windows 10 thank you all for your help.

Sure Will Do I Fixed it for him ^^.

First what I did. I took Malwarebytes trial and crack with and made it premium. And scan the PC will threat scan cleared all malware that was on the pc.

Next I took Monolith Codes and ran them in Admin CMD Prompt

net stop wuauserv
cd %systemroot%
ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
net start wuauserv

Then Downloaded All 3 Bat Files From Here:

I did some little tweaking and made them work.

but after that I went and downloaded windows 10 tool from here:

You must be registered to see links

And just downloaded windows 10 and the updater fully worked.

But heres the second method to get windows 10.

Download Windows 10 Tool.

And instead of download the actually tool download the mediacreation iso file.

go to the store and purchase DVD-R blank CD's that atleast are 4.7 GB

Now burn that ISO file onto the DVD-R or Blank CD

now put the CD into your computer and start your computer off Disk Drive

and then the windows 10 will load up and you proceed the steps from that.

Now you get to product key just click skip. And then later on you get a chose to upgrade or install on partition now find your hard drive
and install it on there.

Your windows product key might not be activate anymore so you will haft to use a loader to get it active message me if you need one.
