hi guys, which OS is the best for Gaming & work and why???
I've personal used Vista,7,& 8,and from my personal experience
Vista is the best so far easy and simple and less PC resource after some tweaks here and there
    what do u guys think?

My laptop is is CORE i5 8 gb ram ddr3 2.53GHZ
after bootime is about 1 minute with 13 startup apps
CPU normal usage 33% and ram 46%

Better results than i've ever gotten than windows 7 and windows 8

If I recall correctly even Microsoft admitted that Vista was a failure so I have no idea how you came to that conclusion.

It was awful, and shouldn't ever be considered the best OS for gaming, regardless of the circumstance. As of now, I find Win7 to be good for gaming.. although WinXP was fantastic. Though, that was back in the day, when gaming was actually fun.

Don't think Windows Vista is better then Windows 7 or 8. I'd rather then use 7. Unless you have a tablet computer which automatically has Windows 8 on it.

I'm testing Windows 8 I would not recommend it for gaming at least not as it's now, I've the feeling that some drivers are kinda sticky/patchy just to work, not to work as they should. Some games crash on it for no apparent reason, sometimes pc freezes for no apparent reason as well ( I'm not saying it's often ). As of yet I would recommend staying with Win 7 x64 or XP x64 if you happen to own them.

Drivers are nothing to do with Windows 8, they are to do with the manufacturer of whatever component driver you complain about (i.e. graphics card, networking card, etc). In my experience with Windows 8 everything that worked on W7 has worked on it.

MS might pre-install some drivers for your card but you should always go to the manufacturers website and get them from there.

It is still having some issues with certain software crashing ect ect...and drivers not being released yet....same issues Win 7 had when it was first born...all Windows have this issue.

    Windows 7 > Vista < XP

Windows 8 is alone. It just depends if you like Metro style.

i got win8, its pretty good, but sometimes it freezes, or sometimes i can reboot and on the metro screen it will hide some apps, there is the issue of getting used to a new os, but its fine overall and the bugs ive mentioned dont happen so recently.

Everything that is new is not stable because obviously it will have some bugs here and there.

I got the drivers from manufacturer, yet same hardware configuration on Win 7 or XP was running stable a hell, on Win 8 same configuration happens to crash or freeze sometimes. Also in my post blaming the drivers is an assumption.

I've been using windows 8 for weeks now and the only thing that doesn't work better than the previous operating systems are the aero effects that have been removed thanks to Sinofky's amazing artistic talent.

Windows Vista is not nearly as good as Windows 7.
I suggest Windows 7 for what you want to do. Windows 8 is just mainly for tablets, and for certain laptops.
