Windows XP Pro 32-bit supports 4GB Ram, Showing 2.75?

Alright I have 4GB of RAM and in the System Properties it shows 2.75GB, Although in the system information it shows that I have 4GB. All of the RAM was tested and is working. I know that the 32-bit version of Windows XP Pro supports up to 4GB but would I have to minus my video card which is 640mb and windows, etc... And then would that leave me with 2.75GB of RAM? If so then I would have to buy the 64-bit version of XP Pro?

I read about this in an eariler post:

Which I would need to buy the 64-bit version of xp? Thx XD:)

That is strange. Have you checked the BIOS to see how much RAM that reports?

usually xp only supports 3.5 gb of ram - or any 32 bit operating system for that matter.

mayber some of ur ram ish sahdowed or something, or if you have 2 2gb modules
then probably it would show 2.75gb in total beacuse it cant jsut cancell out 2gb to make it 2.5 gb or something like that :)

I also have 4x1 GB and XP says I have 3,25GB o' ram.
Still, 2GB is enough for XP.
If you really need it I suggest upgrading to 64-bit would fix it.
Just find an XP 64-bit image on a torrent website.

Lol, imo this problem is obvious, upgrading to 64 bits will indeed solve it. Just for the fact that XP 64 bits is gay..

Yes swapping to 64bit would fix it, but theres a deeper problem here as you should be able to use 3.45GB of that RAM, not 2.75GB. I have no idea what could be causing that problem.
