Depends on what it's for, but there isn't anything wrong with it.

A core i7 would do you a lot of good if you can afford it. the intel CPUs are generally better in this aspect

Even the lowest i7 is still double the price of that entire combo he posted, so it's most probably out of his price range.

The CPU should be okay for gaming, but I'm not sure it's good for HEAVY video editing/rendering.

A 2.6GHz dualcore should suffice for small gaming tbh, or you might want a better vid card but you didn't specify whether you have one/which one you have.

Though for vid editing/rendering you'd be looking into more RAM/better CPU.

The 4850 is really nice, I have the GTS 250 which is similar to it on performance. 6gb of ram should be enough for your needs. Btw do you know the name of your dual core processor? It might be a Intel Celeron Dual core 2.6GHz lol.

You'll definitely need a much better processor than that, but the problem is the limited amount of money in your budget.

I could relate to your problem. My motherboard won't let me upgrade higher than an Intel Core 2 Duo. You'll probably want to stick to AMD if you don't want these kind of problems.

BTW, the processor listed is an OEM processor (comes without a cooling device). What's bad about this is that if you are using an Intel stock cooler or something that doesn't support AMD, you'll have to buy a new one for like $20-$30.

I'd recommend this if you have a tight budget:
    Newegg.com - AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor ADX620WFGIBOX
It also comes with some stock cooling and it's a bit newer.

    Here's some combo deals:
Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, LED LCD TV, Digital Cameras and more!

TigerDirect probably charges around $5-$10 shipping so you are saving more money if you buy with newegg.
