That motherboard is not too bad, will be decent for basic graphics/video editing and gaming as long as you get the right specs.

The only thing is, specifications for gaming computers and editing computers differ quite a bit, I guess you could make it work, but I had to change my gaming PC quite a bit to get it stable for a editing computer...

But I'd say base the motherboard on personal preference, if it is capable of creating a computer that you want, with the specs that you want, then go for it! Purchase it and have fun :P

BTW, the processor listed is an OEM processor (comes without a cooling device). What's bad about this is that if you are using an Intel stock cooler or something that doesn't support AMD, you'll have to buy a new one for like $20-$30.

I'd recommend this if you have a tight budget:
    Newegg.com - AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus 2.6GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor ADX620WFGIBOX
It also comes with some stock cooling and it's a bit newer.

    Here's some combo deals:
Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, LED LCD TV, Digital Cameras and more!

TigerDirect probably charges around $5-$10 shipping so you are saving more money if you buy with newegg.
umm Thanks but its not socket 775.

I thought you wanted a new mobo + cpu. The old one you posted is socket AM2. You'll have to switch your mobo if you want a better cpu.

    Intel Q8400.

Honestly, it isn't hard to go to the newegg website and select "socket 775" and look for the quad cores.

Although, you are apparently completely clueless, so your obviously aren't going to be assembling this PC yourself... just go to the PC store who will be assembling it for you and ask them to show you the 775 quad cores they have. AFAIK the Q8400 and the Q9505 are the ones ones still around.

The AMD Athlon II X4 620 is the cheapest AMD quad at $89, but it requires a new motherboard.

The cheapest Intel Quad on newegg is the Q8300 which is priced at $150. It's also socket 775.

EliteGM mentioned "2.6GHz" and since then you've been fixating on it, so yea you strike me as someone who has no clue what they are doing.

Also as someone else has just mentioned, 775 Quad core's are roughly $150, so you clearly are not even able to search properly. The AMD quad core's are cheaper because they lack in performance and because nobody buys them anymore so they have a surplus.

If you want a quad core 775 CPU, then get either a Q8300/Q8400.

    /Thread.

    Cause you need it....

Either get the cheap AMD quad + mobo

    or

Save up for the Intel Quad without mobo
