hMM Crystal XP modify the system shell.dll and other stuff and make your XP looks like vista.
I also modify from it but it require alot more ram and graphic than XP so if you are laqqinq using XP don't think about it.
If you have modify it before better make it back to the original one before modify as it might crash.
I also heard that Window XP black edition with sp2/3 but is a OS but pirated.
I don't really recommend you to use that but you can go check it out it's

Your wasting your time.... use VLITE and shrink down a copy of Vista...
All those custom windows Xp SUCK in the long run trust me i have used almost all of them.... your much better off with vista SP1 with some mods from Vlite...
Vista DOES NOT USE TOO much Ram This is a MYTH....
what vista Does is Cache whatever programs you use (Games etc) to the Ram to make them load faster....
The catch is for vista to Run at its optimum you need atleast 2 Gigs... which is what 40 - 60$ USD nowadays... if you can't afford that chances are your comp sucks so bad that there is no point to even install XP and you should go back to windows 98 ....
No New computer parts will work there best unless they are on vista....
SLI/Quad/Dual core ... How do you expect to run all that ..... xp 32 bit wont even let you use 4gbs of Ram..... and Xp 64bit sucks balls.... unstable/garbage.
well for the using of 4 gb ram you have right but vista sucks ........
from the first day they shared the sp1 , also microsoft will publish the new software soon,
for me i prefer to run windows xp . are more stable and easy in use :)
Use whatever you want . . . pirate as many bad copies of xp you all want . . . im done dealing with bit rot every month . . .

Not A new OS by Microsoft.It's modify by people out there which looks like
window vista but it's cant say is pirated or not it's not from Microsoft but
is only using Window Xp/Vista as the name.It's good source of OS for
the people who don't want to purchase Xp or Vista and using Linux as
they are not familiar with it so Window XP Black edition are a "Free" OS
but try to get a full[buy] Anti-virus in case some people go modify and make
some kind of Freaking virus that steal your credit card,account & etcs.
Its a modified pirated version of Windows Xp, Modified Shell to make the GUI look more like Vista.
There is no real performance boost, but the shell is integrated so its not going to waste more resources too look like vista, as you dont need to run anything like stylexp or windowsblinds etc..
Most of these use a pre-activated Oem/ Corporate Key, or are a modified version of Windows xp Pro Student Edition with Rollup installed to make it like Windows mediacenter or to add other features.
So In a way they are illegal... but then again hey who is gona catch you?
Anyways be careful where you download from...

I would suggest if you *MUST* stick with Xp.... for whatever reason.
That you use a Form of Tiny Xp or Media center 2005
I have had the best luck in terms of stability with those... modify them yourself so you know wtf is going on and what changes have been made... dont use other peoples mods, seriously . . . you dont know wtf they put in there and who has the time to check every little pos out.
To whoever posted Vista does not use too much RAM. Tell that to my sister's PC. Vista uses 1GB of RAM and 10% CPU usage in idle state.
How much ram is in the system total?
Btw wouldnt you rather use your ram that you payed for rather than have it go to waste doing nothing?

If you have 1gb of Ram Vista should use around 450 to 560
If you have 2gb Of Ram vista should use 500- 650
if you have 4gb of ram Vista Should use around 750 to 1.2GB
since I know what i am doing...
right now I am using FireFox/ventrilo and Object dock/ and Aim and im only using 460 MB of System ram. out of 2gb. running vista x32bit.
Laptop = Hp DV8000t CTO geforce 7600 GO 256mb 1.8 Ghz dual Core with 2gb ddr2 Pc 6400 Ram.
I hardly Even use a Swap file... I have mine trimmed down to just under 1gb.
Age of Conan Runs great around 35 - 50 FPS
Counter Strike Source I get around 120FPS ( 30 - 50 FPS in militia)
WcIII Runs great but that games old..
Battlefield 2 runs almost Maxed out... I keep Antialasing to 2x
Lineage 2 always ran great..
starcraft 1 runs without any probs on vista so even old games run good even diablo II
I have almost every game installed.... Unreal etc
only game i didnt install on this thing is CRYSIS which i played and found boring so never purchased it...halo 3 much more fun.

Your sisters comp like most ditsy girls proly has 1000 running processes and is preloaded with junk from the manufacturer .... but sadly you are not a good brother and dont reformat her comp to run smooth...
She proly has like AIM insted of AIM add hack installed or Trillian ....AIm itself uses like 100mb... of ram it installs like 20 searchbars and 20 other useless apps that start with ur comp.... then ontop of that she proly has UAC enabled and MACFEE the FUCKING WORST MosT OBNOXIOUS ANTIVRIUS I hAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.... WORST THAN NORTON IF u ASK ME.
Its funny how my 3 year old Laptop with vista x32 bit runs better than most of your comps that are not even a month old running xp ^^ SAD and i only payed 1050$ for this laptop brand new from Costco 3 years ago lol... ^^ You guys proly got some shitty comp a week ago and spend 2x as much and its not even half as good ^^
BTW I dont post to be an Asshole... But people who don't know wtf there doing (which are large in numbers) spread poor information, and deter others from experimenting and trying new things and new ways of doing things.... if we all listened to all the retards in the world ... we would still be throwing rocks at each other instead of Nuclear missiles.. then again maybe that would be a good thing ...
