I'am looking for skilled ppl to help me and i prefer i make all on linux more stabel etc on windows and i'am 100% sure original server work on linux not in Windows 100% Because There in each play like 30,000ppl

there is no doubt they are use MS product for servers. For example that there is no mssql support for linux, and emulation would be too stupid to use, because of performance drop. 30k ppl for each? what kind peace of hardware can handle that? doh..

Man do you know anythings about Windows server's? They are (so NcSoft) using Grid Technology. You should research "What is Grid Technology?", like Beowulf in the Unix systems.

Performance drop? I think you know nothing about Linux and how it works. 100% nothing. What I can think of right now as possible solutions are:

1st Problem is the database server. This can be msSQL on different (2nd) machine or run using wine.
Yes runs with wine with excellent performance, why not? Wine is NOT an emulator, is Win API implementation on top of Unix/ Posix. It can run Windows applications the same or a very little worse performance. The problem of Wine is that can be unstable, but I never had issues. You can always use another SQL server software, compatible with MSSQL.
About the server: C1 server WILL run on linux, because its much simpler as engine and because its 32bit. Also is lighter and demands lower hardware than C4 PTS.

BUT I think this is not going to work because:
You need excellent support on Wine (mainly stability NOT performance).
You will need to modify sometimes the server files. (They are not open source)
You will not get better performance. (Wine does not improve performance)

I suggest you to work with L2J on Linux. Its stable, secure and fast. My Linux/ L2J can handle 1700ppl online and server starts in 30 sec. Also L2J is open source SO if you have knowledge on server enviroments (where you should have If you plan to run C4 Off on Linux) I suggest you to go improve L2J. Its easier and legal ;-)

I can tell you something mate.

the retail servers are using Windows Server 2008 x64.

And they are not even close to 30k people rofl. I'd say the biggest private server have more players then the highest populated retail server.

Player cap on retail servers are 5500. I've seen private servers reaching 6500 players.

I'm an old retail player, Been playing retail since open beta and are still playing from time to time. If you would've been updated on the situation you would have knew how many people left Lineage II recently.

I'm a bartz player and they've lost ALOT of players. All the biggest alliances left to player Age of Conan so now there's only newbies left on it. And Bartz is still the biggest retail server so Teon doesn't have that many players either.

I saw a graph of the online player on retail , dont remember where , the max was like 4500 player at night , and you have to consider that 50% of the player are the chinease farmer or bots , so you finaly have like 2000 Real player , sad for the pvp and the fun however it's fun to speak and pvp with a bot LOL .

I think i've seen this graph aswell.

More and more private servers are closing, I'd say there's about 5 decent private servers right now.

And yes, There are different servers for different regions. But the chinese botters/farmers doesn't earn any money when selling gold on the chinese servers. So they need to bot/farm on the european, american, chinese etc. etc. region servers aswell.

Run a Tibia server on linux, maybe then you'll be able to get 30k players. But i wouldn't be surprised, it's one square trying to hit another square in-game.

The only way to run a L2Off server in linux is using a virtual machine inside of it (so linux would host windows, and windows would host l2off).
Here's one more reason, in case you still didn't get it: all executables were made on Visual Studio (their PE headers and signatures say that). VS = Microsoft != Linux.
