1st one is excellent. 8/10 simplicity at it's best

1st one dunno its just simple, but the second one is kool! text is just wicked, i need some of your brushes, but a lil less light would be good to see.
1st one has it's high points. Wish you did more to the render itself, with a splatter eraser, or a soft brush. Softly erasing his feet, or legs would be fantastic.
For as the 2nd one, is a horrible choice. Effects are very bland, and they don't match the render itself. The second render is a render used for mostly vector effects, and gray-scale tags.
I liked the 1st one, its simple and clean. but the 2nd one, i don't know, its kinda messy.

i think you suit the second one better than the 1st
your style comes out more in the 2nd,
and that is what i like more.
