No it's not freeware, the free demo version suck because you cant save renders, meaning you'll have to take screenshot and render them yourself :)

imo 3d apps are alot harder than 2d like photoshop but u always have to start somewhere i have never used c4d tho :S
once you know the basic interface its very easy, its a case of trial and error until you get something you like most of the time. But when you learn the basics and can navigate through it easily, making a render that you want isnt at all hard ;)
Is not hard, you must be creativity. It's a little similar to Maya & 3dsmax
Cinema 4D is alot easyer than alot of the 3D programs around, like 3d studio max. But the hard part is materials, it's not easy to make stuff look good, 3D's max offer a larger availability of what u can do. wich Cinema lacks
