Trust me, practice makes perfect!
The more you learn, the more you can adapt things to your own whim.
Find tutorials of different techs and practice them over and over.
That's what I do.

I like the first one better, the second ones lighting seems to saturate the colors a bit so yeah. Its pretty awesome though, nice job.
