Yeah it looks like a stock too. Looks too sharp and contrasted imo. You got the lighting wrong aswel ;s I would give that another go, but take a different approach.

the smudge doesn't fit well, it destroys the flow of the sig. if the smudge was created to help see the flow, it wud look a lot better

Maybe this helps abit? Changed the contrast and turned it into a dog tag kind of thing.

I think it looks nice. I realy realy like the bg :)
Try to do something about the face of that guy, it looks bad. Maybe u used something like levels, bright/contrast or Curves in a wrong way. There is to much light in that face.
