    JPG - smallest filesize,
    - fast loading,
    -no transparency = suck
GIF - second smallest, one color transparency, no alpha tranparency, best transparency color is 255 0 255 (magic fink lolz), ull get into prison if u try to hack it and develop your own gif version = copywrited shit
PNG - bigger filesize than GIF, open source, best transparencies with multiple alpha layers and etc etc... transparencies doesnt work on IE ( cause bills says so, but i hear they are putting it on IE7 )

JPG is better on that.. animation kinda doesnt show well for me,
