If you have the resolution, take the insult and negativity and make use of it.
You shouldn't use drop shadows in sigs imo, most of the time they don't look good.
No drop-shadows/outlines/strokes/outer-glows on renders. That should be rule number one for you.
Unless it somehow makes it look good.

But yeah, most of the time, drop shadow doesn't work.
Its just too generic.
p.s. that thing up there doesn't actually use drop shadow, sucka.
Aparently everyone here are a bunch of assholes. I however think that the sigs, for your experience, are a great beginning path! Drop shadowing and outlines, strokes, glows, etc, can make something look great if used properly. So don't count out trying them! I think if you're going to use that multi-image effect, especially for Marvin, you should use three different images, not the same one.
Try playing around with them more and post other variations, having a variety of each one is a good way to sense what of it you (and other people) like and dislike, but if remember, if it's a personal signature, then it's really up to you and what you like. :D
