Re: [Gurb]Been too long
My thoughts about this tag is kind of similar.
I don't think the C4D sit well with this tag -- try another approach. I think doing vectors, or abstract-type methods would be a better approach, but that's just my opinion.
Furthermore, the text really doesn't look good. I always try and stay simple with the text, unless you really are good with fancying it, and making it look good!

Re: [Gurb]Been too long
as the error 404 said,
the text with outline not good for me too,
and the C4D Effect in the left side is not blend in the render i think?
but i like the right side the red one looks some aura in his hand..

Use smudge my friend , that is every GFX "artists" secret. Also learn which colour goes with what , and you can become a GFX god in no time. Play around with blending , Overlay , Hard Light , Vivid Light , Screen , are all useful in certain situations. Also on text always apply some blend mode , otherwise it looks like its dropped there ... not part of the image.

Re: [Gurb]Been too long
When using smudge tool, it's fairly hard to produce something that's actually appealing to the eye, most people who start off with a smudge tool don't take depth into consideration which makes a tag look very flat and not realistic at all.
Onto the piece;
The compo here killed the tag, the focal position doesn't help at all. Drop the text, and work a little more on focal effects.
Work on blending everything together. And, allot of adjc layers to help with the colors and blending.
Don't over-blur your tags, I've seen you do that with all your tags, and it usually makes your work look flat.
Keep practicing, mate.
