I just tried to make the brushes as simple as possible. Look suckY? =/
and yes i did the outer glow and shadow on the render, the render was extract from a screenshot in a game called pristontale and so i render it myself.
IF you really want to improve like you say you do, stop using downloaded brushes and make everything by scratch. Except for the render of course :p. Be creative and create your own work, that way you will improve more and more for every signature. If you stick to brushes, your work will become repetitive and you won't get anywhere. Photoshop have every tool you need to make a signature look modern and more stylish than that.
Here are some random thing I pulled of my DA which is made without brushes.

Im sick and tired of your replies recently. Every post you put here (and some other's sign) so far are almost the same. Its as if that your more of a intending to humilate other than really to tell others read more tutorials. If you really got something up in your mind that can work it out far better, then do share it and stop repeating "read some tutorials" stuff. I mean even if you got a good tutorial that might prove useful on this thread, link it here. This is sad to say, in this entire thread, I had only listend to Flaw's reply seriously, sorry buddy your very this post are 0% relevant to me even if I get you wrong.
ok ok text distracts from focal; moving it closer to the render is an option. Needs a light source. There isn't really anything going on. Please don't use fractal brushes, they look really crappy. An alternative to brushes is c4d's; this is what pretty much everyone uses and creates a decent flow in your tags.
@Flawz; I don't know if you were attempting to create depth or a texture of some sort; but that tag is way too oversharpened in some parts. Terrible focal.

Read some tutorials and get familiar with the options on Photoshop. That'll help.
