Looks to me is all you did is put some brushes, and darken it a bit.
The arrows ruin the flow for the tag.
Right side looks way too darkened/mis-colored.
Overall 5/10.

Everything was intentional. There was no flow to begin with, it wasn't supposed to blend or smudge in any way. The arrows added feel for the text and gave it more "umph" instead of a plain blue gradient. And the only part supposed to be highlighted was the face, and the gradient was colored to represent the sky and etc.

Lul, there's always flow in a tag. Unless it was a simple blank color.
I think is just an image. You just add the borders, some brushes and a text but they look nice. Congratz!
