Problems Noticed,
Text
Much of your user imputed text is not web safe nor is it possible to do on a website. A lot of it also seems to be done in sharp or crisp again something you will not see on websites. One of the first lessons you have to learn in web design is to make sure you use fonts for user imputed data that are web safe. This can be ones such as times new roman, arial and many others. Failing to do this will easily lead your design looking poor when you don't take into account in your design.
Size,
The size of this site seems very compact and it seems as if you resized the image about 80 width 90 hight. Try to make sure your work never looks squeezed together unless thats the actually idea behind it.
Colors,
Yes it is very monotone. This is fine there is nothing wrong with a monotone site there are millions of them on the web. If you did how ever wish to increase the color a good start would be adding a unique background. A background can instantly change a design from good to bad. As well as creating a background that suits the style better another possible option is as follows. Try adding some more red into the mix. You have the head text in a red area you could have easily added red notes into the brown to just bring it out slightly. Next you could have bad the edge on the nav bar a different color. Maybe gold and this would have helped to give depth as well as bring the design out even more.
Better Site Hosting.
Tiny pic is a terrible choice to try to show your work. Try using kalleload.net it is free and you can upload huge image files with no size restrictions.
cbf'd reading it all, but as far as text,
you are wrong, web safe fonts really are a think of the past.
Let me google that for you
Let me google that for you
Let me google that for you
Let me google that for you
Really?
I would ask you to show me where crisp sharp are part of this process yet?
As for being websafe. Learn what WEBSAFE means before you link to something.
These fonts are made usable via HTML5 or Css3. These are not then websafe fonts. There for your little linking and comments and WRONG so please come back to me when you actually read what I said.
Also standard set of fonts common to all versions of Windows and their Mac substitutes, referred sometimes as "browser safe fonts" or "Websafe fonts". Aka ones that require html5 or Css3 to work are NOT WEB SAFE FONTS. Next is the thing of the past. Guess what websafe fonts will not be going any where any time soon. If you believe it will be there you really need to learn about web design before you start talking.
Ps, im not saying you can not use websafe fonts. I am saying that you are still better to use websafe fonts for user imputed text instead of non websafe for quality and overall coverage of viewers to your site.
Well, as far as viewer coverage, "not websafe fonts" are supported on pretty much every browser under the sun bar IE6, which is only really used by a few lazy corporate environments which either haven't made the effort to roll out an upgrade or have an Intranet built to run on IE6.
As for your use of buzzwords in an effort to show that I am wrong: @font-face has been around since CSS 2.0, its hardly CSS3 and has absolutely nothing to do with HTML5.
As far as all these "dangerous" fonts not going anywhere for a long time, Google seems to think differently. http://code.google.com/apis/webfonts/
Please explain to me why one would use a "websafe" font over a "non websafe" font in this application? Sure, you can say that IE6 still has some amount of userbase, of course a developer should build his/her site to degrade gracefully in all browsers to some extent, but that doesn't mean one shouldn't give the best experience possible to those who can view it.
thats a great site.. Unreal design.
