Strange that the bg was made keeping the render in mind. I like the render .. It's cute ... Doubt I'll change it now ... :( ..

The reason it doesnt fit is because it needs to be blended into the background (which i know has been mentioned several times) also try making the render a little lighter so it goes with the bright background.

A couple of hours I guess to get to this and nearly a whole day trying to fill up the white space with something but to no avail ... :( ....
